Annual Comprehensive Financial Report
Each year the Finance Department prepares an Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR). This report complies with Ohio law that requires all cities to file an unaudited basic financial statement with the Auditor of State within 150 days of the end of the previous year. Ohio law also requires regular audits to be performed on all financial related operations of the city. These may be performed by either the State Auditor's Office or an independent public accounting firm.
The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) issues Certificate of Achievement awards as the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment. As the recipient of the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for twenty-three consecutive years, the Finance Director is committed to transparency, accountability and serving the best interests of the community and its elected officials.
