CHIP PROGRAM
The City of North Ridgeville is partnering with Lorain County to offer home repair and rehabilitation programs to income-eligible homeowners by way of the Lorain County Community Housing Impact and Preservation (CHIP) Program. This program is funded by the Ohio Department of Development.
The home repair program offers grants for plumbing, electrical, roof, furnace, ADA modifications, water heater, walk-in shower and other health and safety needs. The home rehabilitation program offers more extensive repairs and upgrades for homes in the form of a declining-forgivable loan. There is no monthly payment, no interest will be charged and 100% of the amount borrowed will be forgiven over five years provided owner continues to own and occupy the home.

COMMUNITY REINVESTMENT AREA
Did you know North Ridgeville has a program to encourage residential reinvestment? A Community Reinvestment Area (CRA) is an area of land in which a property owner can receive tax incentives for investing in real property improvements. North Ridgeville’s CRA Residential Tax Abatement Program is aimed at improving property values and stimulating reinvestment in the city’s existing housing stock by abating or forgoing taxes on increases in assessed valuation associated with significant remodeling projects. Abatement is not available for new construction. Review program guidelines and download the application below.
