The Clerk of Council’s Office provides the professional link between the citizens of North Ridgeville, the local governing bodies, and agencies of government at other levels.
Our mission is to enable the public to participate in the legislative process, by providing accurate information and services in a timely and professional manner, enabling the public to make informed decisions affecting the quality of their lives.
The Clerk of Council’s Office keeps a record of the proceedings of meetings of Council and keeps a record of all approved ordinances and resolutions and reports presented to Council for consideration. We serve as a neutral and impartial source for obtaining information and official records on functions of local government by providing equal service to all.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Clerk of Council's Office provides several key functions that are vital to local government and the citizens of the city.
- Record and Publish Meeting Minutes
- Provide Notice of Council Meeting
- Record Ordinances and Resolutions
- Boards and Commissions Management
- Collect and Record Agricultural District Applications
- Maintain and Record Cemetery Deeds
- Official Custodian of the Clerk of Council’s Seal
- Collect Special Assessment Request
- Prepare Council Dockets for Action
- Aid the City Council, City Staff, and the public in researching records, documents, City Council activities, and legislation
- Oversee the codification and maintenance of the North Ridgeville Codified Ordinances
- Maintain and Guide Retention Schedules for All Departments as the City Records Manager
- All of the above records are public records and open to inspection.
