Student Services/Special Education

Clearview Local Schools is committed to identifying, locating and evaluating all children from birth to age 21 who may have a disability. Disabilities means conditions such as hearing impairment, multiple disabilities, visual impairments, speech or language impairments, specific learning disabilities, emotionally disturbed, cognitive delays, other health impairments (major and minor), orthopedic impairments, autism, deaf blindness and traumatic brain injury.

Parents, relatives, public and private agencies, and any other concerned individual may contact the Special Education Office at Clearview Local Schools by calling Mrs. Meagan Khandekar, Director of Special Education, at (440) 233-5412 to refer any child who may have a disability and need special education. District officials will be assigned to assess each referral to determine if an evaluation is necessary.

Section 504

At Clearview, we are committed to providing an equitable educational experience for all students. Under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, we ensure that students with disabilities receive the accommodations and services they need to succeed in the general education environment. Section 504 prohibits discrimination and ensures that students with disabilities have access to the same educational opportunities as their peers. Our team works closely with families to develop 504 plans that provide tailored accommodations, such as extra time on tests, modified assignments, or physical classroom adjustments, to help students fully engage in their learning. We believe in fostering an inclusive environment where all students can thrive and reach their academic potential.
